Jacera is the Queen of the Asana, a kingdom of Faerie on the world of Aislindalie. While there are other Faerie kingdoms, Jacera’s is the motherland, so to speak. It is the eldest of the civilized faerie kingdoms. The first where all races came together to live after leaving their forests. In civilized Aislindalie, it is the only safe haven for the faerie peoples left to them. There are a few races, a few clans that continue their existence within the remaining forests of Aislindalie, wielding their magic to keep progress at bay and their sacred homes safe and undiscovered. The rest have gathered into the vastly spread cities of Fae. The Kings and Queens of these cities look to the King or Queen of the Asana for guidance and wisdom when necessary. Otherwise, they work to uphold and further the grandeur of their own kingdoms.

The current Queen of the Asana is a young ruler by Faerie standards. She rose to the thrown amidst the bloody rebellion of the Otaeburs to seize the thrown from her father, King Dornbier. For the main story line, that was over two thousand years prior. She had the rebels and the murderer of her father executed for all to see.

She is untrusting, having seen and experienced mutiny first hand. As with most royal fae, she will not consider a mate as husband, only taking a consort when she chooses one. However, she can find no reason to trust any individual with that overwhelming privilege. She takes many lovers, but loves no one.

Jerushe Leuncorh, a fae of Cormaelin and worshiped as a god by the humans and lesser fae, has fallen in love with her. He tries to gain her affection at every turn. Yet, Jerushe is not a bumbling love-sick pup. He is a hardened warrior and faithful servant. He also refuses to fail at any task he sets himself to, including gaining the heart of the ice queen herself.

As heir to the Vayahl family, she has the “powers of the seasons.” Essentially, she can control four elemental stages at will, with ice being her strongest. This coincides with her birth in winter, a common enough trait in her family line.
