About Aislindalie & The Ends of Fate:

The Ends of Fate:

The Ends of Fate is the title to the collection of my BJD stories concerning the world of Aislindalie, the spiritual realms, and all their inhabitants. The stories here are fictional and created purely for entertainment. Also, since there are elements of religion liberally peppered throughout, it goes without saying that the views and ideas presented here do not necessarily reflect any particular belief system, let alone my own personal beliefs. I have borrowed from classic mythology and changed things at whim and purposely blended them together for something unique. Pretty straightforward and all, I hope.

The World of Aislindalie:

Aislindalie is home to a cadre of angels, demons, faeries, vampires, humans, and a whole host of supernatural beings. Don’t be surprised to see just about anything crop up in this realm! It is an open world, inviting the co-existence of all creatures. Magic abounds in all aspects. Angels may switch sides, demons may not be as evil as they thought themselves, and the fae will both forget who they are and learn what has been lost. Nothing is set in stone. What was once thought to be, solid, unchanging, will change. Confusion will prevail as the world of Aislindalie sets the stage for the Ends of Fate.

The Dimensions:

There is the spiritual or “In-between” realm, home to those of heaven, hell, and, by choice, faerie. Everything else is where the humans reside, such as Aislindalie, other planets, or other parallel dimensions. Angels do not live in the sky as believed by some and the demons do not live in fiery pits but rather in their own kingdom within the in-between, or Nuada as it is often called. Nuada is the gateway to all worlds. It is believed that all life stems from Nuada and spread into the surrounding realms. Asmodia is the chief court of “hell” whereas Elysia is the chief court of “heaven.” The Faerie can bend time and space and as such, build their kingdoms and cities in the space between all realms. Kingdoms of Faerie such as that of the Asana having openings within Nuada and at least one other world of their choosing. My stories chiefly concern the realm of Nuada, the Faerie courts, and the world of Aislindalie.

GOD: The big man himself, absent from my stories for the most part aside from his being the “Almighty”, of course. But for the sake of things, imagine that he’s currently sitting back, fingers steepled before him purveying the worlds and all his creations. He is everywhere and nowhere, and he does not take sides in any of the doings of his creation. He pretty much lets each creation rule themselves.

The Angelic Host: On a mission to stamp out “evil” (at least, what they perceive to be evil) from all the realms of existence. They mostly follow the classic Judeo-Christian-Islamic mythology concerning angels, but they will also resemble dieties of other lore at times. Be prepared for any twists I feel appropriate. They manage themselves with their own conceived hierarchy. However, as much as they believe themselves to be pure and good, their sense of self-righteous justice often leads them to unrealized self-centeredness.

The Demons & All Their Ilk: Pretty much the fallen angel brigade and their progeny. They’re out for self-gratification and overall corruption, abhoring most things to do with the angels and doing much to spite them. And yet, elements of compassion and love are not possible to completely irradicate, even within those that thought to have caste it far from themselves.

The Humans: Same as anywhere, I suppose. Stuck between the squabbles of the great powers and treated as children. They can utilize magic and can tap into special powers. Although magic is rampant on Aislindalie, there are lands that adamantly disbelieve in its existence or in anything spiritual or supernatural, while yet other lands may have magic outlawed.

The Fae of Aislindalie: They were once simple children of nature, separated from their home world, but as they grew old they became bored and indifferent. Through the ages, this change in actions and principles changed the fae as a people. Except for those remaining deep in the woods where the changing face of Aislindalie touches them not, the race of fae is no longer the innocent, carefree people they once were. As a rule, the fae are whatever they wish to be. They are “good” as the angels and “evil” as the demons if they wish to be, or they can be true neutral as well. Their rulers uphold each individual’s rights to this, as well as carefully laid out laws of their people.

Interactions: The fae are also widely used by the angels and demons to fight their own ongoing struggles. For this reason there are those who have left the courts of the faerie and joined courts of the demons, such as Lord Sorde Dan’Viel’s. And vice versa for those wishing to aid the angels. However, the fae themselves show that nothing is truly black or white.

On the Various Roles:

This part is for my own organization and to clarify what each means. For curses, I’ve set these apart to denote that, while each could easily fall under the category as demon, they are curses rather than individuals birthed as such because each “turns” the individual into said creature. I have added ghosts under curses because, while they may not have been cursed to become a ghost, they are sort of cursed because they can’t yet move on. =shrugs=
