Two days ago my Pullip MIO kits finally arrived! And, of course, Pullip Style now has the Taeyang MIO kit available, lol! Isul and Dal are up as well~ Ah well, all in good time.
One of the kits is for me and the other is one of several for family members. Not sure who will end up with the first one, yet. I opened one kit and had fun messing with her. The other I merely opened to look at, but didn’t open the individual packaging parts. One thing about the packaging… they sure glued all the parts down well. You pretty much have to rip the parts off the cardboard backing.
Once out of the packaging, she was just as much of an alien bobble head as I was expecting her to be. I absolutely loved her! However, I have noticed quite a few problems with her already. Her head color is a slight grayer pink than her body. I do not know if this is specific to MIO kits or just this one in particular. When I try to make her sit, her left leg makes a loud cracking noise and separates the hip joint of the torso each time the leg goes up or down to straighten. The eye mech was incredibly fiddly. The prongs on the eyes didn’t want to stay put on top the metal springs. I also noticed the cross bar that connects the eyes together and to the slide bar are slanted rather than being straight. Perhaps the worst part is the eyelids. The push rods get stuck all the time and even when pulled out the eyelids don’t always slide back up.
I’ll have to take her apart eventually to do the faceup, custom her clear eye chips, put eyelashes on the eyelids, but that’ll have to wait until I have a day off from work. In the meantime, I have loads of time to decide hair color, eye color, face colors, and what her name might eventually be!
Even with her problems, and the fact that she’s rather light, I still like her very much and will definitely be purchasing a Taeyang, and perhaps an Isul and Dal, sometime in the future. The Taeyang will most likely be sometime next week! ^_~
Now, for the photos!
