    So, during my dolly hiatus, I missed a few new sculpts that came out. No biggie, the ones I’ve seen so far haven’t really caught my eye. Then the other day BJDCollectasy posted that the company April Story had announced their January releases. Well, seeing as I hadn’t checked them out before, I made my way to their store to peruse their wares.  Oh me, oh my!  What gorgeous cuties awaited me!  The sad draw back is all their dolls are only available during a limited time.  That doesn’t mean I can’t hope and hold out for a re-release of this lovely.  I will admit he’s very reminiscent of a Volks Williams, yet with definite changes apparent upon closer inspection.  The resemblance is probably what makes me like him!

    Then today I finally got around to looking at the new Sadol Love60 releases… and… inevitably, I was sunk!  I took one look at miss Yena and I was hooked bad.  Sadol has a fullset version available here (NSFW images near the end) that I looked at first.  Everything about the photo shoot is just darling, and by the time I got to her body shots I was already in desperate love with the sculpt waiting in eager anticipation of seeing the blank product.

    Then came the body.  Oh dearie, dear!  It’s so close in mind to what I have intentions to sculpt that I was in awe.  After the initial worship shock wore off, I could gear my attentions to its further details.  The elbows are perhaps the one feature I truly dislike.  They’re sort blocky and a tad shapeless.  But I adore the full torso and thigh parts!  My favorite body is, hands down, the old Supia body (NSFW images).  Those hips are my absolute FAVE, but I always felt the Supia arms were too thin.  I like how the Sadol body seems a bit “meatier” in that regard!  The newer Supia body has that fleshier sensibility, but loses a bit of the flair from the old one.  Not to mention it looks like it’s wearing underwear now.

    So of course, there were no blank head sculpt photos on that listing, so I turned my attention to another listing that offered just the head.  This one has a MUCH different faceup and, therefore, is a wonderful contrast to show the versatility of this sculpt.  Yes, I’m more and more intrigued.  Finally, towards the end of that group of preview photos, I reached the end of my quest – the desired blank head sculpt photos were in hand!  Or, rather, in viewing range.  (Darn you confounding and dastardly virtual reality called internet!)  The blank sculpt shows so much wealth of promise in it’s soft lines that beg for inspired definition!  So, for now, this mold will go on my lonely wishlist as I take time to think her over and ponder if she’ll fit for me, but I have this hunch she’s gonna grow on me for sure.

    So, completely unexpectedly, considering it was Christmas DAY, my package from Shinku Rhapsody arrived! It was late in the evening, after most of our Christmas hub-bub, and was a delighted, extended, extra pressie surprise! No pictures yet, though, but a quick and sweet update to be sure.

    The Frankie head was just as wonderful as I remembered her to be. I still keep kicking myself that I didn’t purchase her when I had her in my hands, but oh well. At least I have a head for now! Surprisingly she seems to match the Ghoulia’s legs, which led me to compare her to Rayne’s Ghoulia and the color seems seriously close. Need to look at the color difference more in daylight to see just how off it is, but it’s an option. For now, I have a headless Barbie that I stuck her on. The result was so delightful that, if I can still find a full Skull Shores version, I may custom her for either this Barbie body (which entails coloring it to match) or purchasing an Obitsu body (which also entails coloring it to match). Oh, the possibilities!

    I’m suddenly overwhelmed by all the MH’s in the house! Draculara, Lagoona, Abby, Ghoulia (Rayne’s), and the Frankie head!

    The “GI Joe” action figure I found is actually a Super Articulated Power Team action figure. I believe he’s the Police – City Patrol one, but not sure. No complaints here, though. He still will work quite nicely for Seishirou, and I don’t have to worry about modding him if I choose to make him slimmer since he’s already been modded! One of his knee joints is a bit cracked, but an easy repair. I’m going to make his clothing soon so that he’s all ready for when his head comes to me. Now to find a body for Sub-sub!  Still contemplating another headless Barbie body to mod for him =coughcough= until I get an appropriate one, that is…

    Overall, I’m very pleased.  A beautiful head, a fun male body, and MH feet+legs to make shoes on!  All in all, a very delightful day~

    Swap Photos & a Photo Story Up!

    I finally got around to getting some images prepped for viewing. Over the summer I participated in a swap with PaladinAri and her Gilan. Before shipping my items out to her, I took some nice ones of the items with Kah’z. I’ve added those along with the photos I took of the items I received in return in photo story format. Corshier looked so cute during the shoot that I took three of her and have those added to her gallery. These are some of those images that have been sitting around on the camera waiting for me during my hiatus. Ah well, at least they’re finally up! I’ve also changed Corshier’s profile photo to one of the updated photos. This is especially nice since the old one was from the first photo I ever took of her! Eeeek! And while I was at it, I remembered to upload Odan’s profile images as well. Yay.

    I will be expanding my profile section to add my Monster High girls as I get them customized. Lagoona’s having her face-up, and I have a full idea of where I’m going with her but no name yet. Nemineh, my Draculara, has an outfit in the works, but I’m holding off on her face-up until I get sealant. Having enough trouble with the Lagoona one since I’m basically out… just trying to wring the last dredges from the can! Still thinking over my Abby.  And everytime I wanna spray  the sealant… it’s rainy outside! =wibbles=

    I also have some items coming my way soon. Adopting a Skull Shores Frankie head, some random Ghoulia legs, and a somewhat modified GI Joe. The legs I plan on making shoe lasts out of. Joe’s gonna be the body to my Seishirou, as soon as I get the head. I see modding in my future.  For the record, I’m looking at Obitsu M02N for Seishirou and either W-01 N or  W-02 N for Subaru. I had planned to purchase the heads for Seishirou and Subaru this month as well as the little Berry I have been wanting, but decided to hold off and put it towards getting Jacera‘s head. A lot of company’s are weeding out their older models. As a matter of fact, Dollmore just recently got rid of two Eve molds so I’m a little paranoid Lilis Liv‘s gonna follow suit. Meh. So, the heads for Sub and Sei and the little, suuuuuper cute Hujoo Berry can wait. But I’ll have my Queen! =cheers=

    Also, been getting a hankering to work on Rem’s body again, so may get a load of work done on it.  YAY!
